It is extremely important that we know why a child is absent from school. Parents/Carers are asked to telephone school as soon as possible on the first day of absence. Please either send in a letter or complete an absence form upon their return to school (forms are available from reception).
Limited absence from school for holidays during term time is legally acceptable, but such absence must be sanctioned by the Headteacher prior to the holiday and must be kept to a minimum. If approval is not given prior to the holidays, the absence must be recorded as “unauthorised” according to DfES directives.
The school earnestly hopes that parents do not take children out of school during term-time unless for very special reasons
