                                                               A7 CHILD PROTECTION

At TMA, there exists an atmosphere in which children feel secure, are listened to and feel valued.  Child protection and the pastoral care of all our pupils is our first priority, and our child protection policy clearly reflects this commitment.

The school follows local Area Child Protection Committee procedures, and all staff receive training in child protection issues.

The school has clear guidelines for monitoring children at risk, and we make use of the curriculum to build preventive approaches to child protection.

The Headteacher and the Leadership Team are the school’s Child Protection Officers, and there are clear procedures and lines of communication which enable the school to work closely with parents and other agencies.

In cases where it is considered to be in the best interests of the child, the policy requires the Headteacher to refer such cases to the investigative agencies.
