CURRICULUM STATEMENT
In developing the whole school curriculum at TMA, our policies and practices are based upon the following rationale...............
The TMA curriculum will:
* Prioritise the development of pupils’ skills in literacy and numeracy
* Help pupils to acquire knowledge, skills, understanding and practical abilities to the highest standard of which they are capable
* Promote the personal and social development of all pupils
* Accommodate different teaching and learning styles appropriate to
individual pupils’ needs
* Develop positive attitudes and values
* Forge an effective partnership with the parents and the local community
The ten subjects of the National Curriculum, together with Religious Education (RE) and Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE), are taught throughout the school. In addition, French is introduced at the beginning of Key Stage Two in Year 3.
Each curriculum area is led by a faculty team leader. The faculties ensure that there is continuity and progression of curriculum provision, as well as coverage of National Curriculum Programmes of Study, throughout the school.
Review of the breadth and balance of the curriculum offered at TMA is a constant process, and parents are kept fully informed of all developments. In addition, a comprehensive curriculum newsletter is issued to parents at the beginning of each term, detailing all aspects of the curriculum to be covered during that term.
