TWO MILE ASH SCHOOL
PROSPECTUS 2007 - 2008
A13 EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
TMA offers a comprehensive extra-curricular programme for all pupils who wish to participate.
Apart from the extensive sports and music programmes and weekend and holiday trips, other activities are arranged during the lunch break and after school, such as handwriting, chess, choirs, orchestra, craft, drama, art, computing, majorettes and even gardening when the weather permits.
The activities vary from term to term, and a timetable is given to parents at the beginning of each term giving full details of times and levels of supervision.
No charges are made for extra-curricular activities. A charge is made for certain trips, special events, peripatetic music lessons and language classes. Parents are always notified of these well in advance.
Children who normally stay on at school in our After School Club, and who wish to take part in an extra-curricular activity, are encouraged to take part in the activity and then join the After School Club when the activity has finished.
Children are particularly encouraged to attend our Homework Clubs, especially if they experience difficulty in organising or completing their homestudy on a regular basis.
Dismissal After Clubs
Year 3
At the end of each school based club (4.30 pm) the teacher will take the children onto the playground where they will wait for parental collection. If for any reason parents are late then the child will be taken to reception and a phone call home will be made. Your child will then wait in reception for collection.
May we remind you that prompt collection from clubs is expected. Repeated late collection of children may jeopardise your child’s place in a club.
Year 4
The first week, extra-curricular club teachers will take children onto the top playground and wait for parents to collect. After this, they will be taken to the High Street entrance and dismissed.
Year 5 and Year 6
Children will be escorted to the slope by the High Street entrance and dismissed by staff.
For clubs which are carried out by peripatetic teachers (ie music and languages where payment has been made) children can be collected from the front reception.
Year 4, 5 and 6 Children being collected by parents after Clubs
Please note: If parents are not on time for collection at the end of the Club, children will be placed in After School Club and a charge will be levied.
