                                                                                                A16 MUSIC PROVISION

Music plays a very significant part in the life of the school, and many opportunities are created for all pupils to enjoy, and even specialise, in music during their time at TMA.

Children are able to study the electronic keyboard, guitar, flute, brass, violin and clarinet.  Instrument lessons take place between 3.30 and 5.30 pm each school day under the direction of external music teachers.  Each music teacher is responsible for the administration and collection of music fees, not the school.

In addition, the school offers group sessions when pupils join with other pupils to form ensembles in strings, clarinet, flute, guitar and brass.

The school also has its own orchestra, and all children who receive instrumental music tuition, either in school or outside school, are invited to join.

Every child in the school is also eligible to join the school choir (subject to a simple audition).  The Choir practises in school time.  The orchestra practises after school, one day each week.

Music is also delivered as part of the normal curriculum, and includes singing, composition, listening and performances.  We also take advantage of local productions as appropriate to each year group, and we invite other musicians and performers into the school on a regular basis.
