                                                     REPORTING TO PARENTS

Our Home-School Partnership, which is of such integral importance to the school, is especially dependent upon effective Reporting Strategies.  We believe that a child will prosper best only if there is strong liaison and a high level of understanding between home and school.

TMA’s Reporting Strategies have proved to be extremely successful in fostering this level of understanding, and parents place much value upon the efforts the school makes to keep them informed of their children’s progress at regular intervals throughout each year.

Three “formal” parent consultation evenings take place each year, at which time parents meet with their child’s class teacher, and in the Spring term set teachers, to discuss progress and establish new targets.

Parents may, of course, consult with staff at any time regarding their child’s progress, and the school very much encourages this flexibility.

We provide a comprehensive written report on every pupil towards the end of the summer term.  This annual report contains a commentary on progress in each of the National Curriculum subjects, R.E. and Personal and Social Development.  Particular strengths and special achievements are highlighted along with specific targets for future development.  The report also contains a section written by the child, and parents are encouraged to comment upon the year’s progress also.

Standard Assessment Test Results (SATs) are reported on in Year Six, when each child’s actual level of attainment in English, Maths and Science are reported.  Comparative information of the overall results of children in the same TMA year group, as well as the previous year’s national results, are also presented at this time.
